A Village in the Klein Karoo
The little town of Barrydale lies nestled at the foot of the beautiful Langeberge, in the heart of the Tradouw valley, close to where the northern exit of the Tradouw pass winds through the mountains to meet the R62, the longest wine route in the world!
In 2020 , enroute to Cape Town ,we decided to detour into the Klein Karoo and found Barrydale and die Langhuis .
Die Langhuis dating back to 1865 falls into the category of those houses with a double row of rooms on either side of a central spine supporting the ridge of the roof.
After four years of building and restoring have we established die Langhuis Country Store, Café and rooms, a blend of colonial Karoo with a touch of France.
Die Langhuis now offers travellers a curated shop filled with antiques , homewares and gifts, as well as an all day Café and beautifully decorated bed and breakfast cottages.
Die Langhuis is more than just a guesthouse, it’s a sanctuary where history , nature and luxury come together, offering an unforgettable experience tailored just for you.
